Questions before you buy

Who owns the code, where the keys live, what the agent does and what you do, what it costs. Didn’t find your question? Write to support@appto.store.

Ownership and code

Who owns the code, and what is it written in?

You do. The agent writes Swift and SwiftUI in a regular Xcode project. The project lives on your Mac, opens in Xcode and builds without Appto.

Where are my apps stored?

All your apps go to one private GitHub repository in your account, one folder per app, and a project you bring in keeps its own repository. A new version lands there after every step the agent takes, and any step can be undone. We don’t keep your apps, your code or your backend.

Where do large files go: sounds, videos, store images?

If you want, into Cloudflare R2 storage in your own Cloudflare account. You turn it on in Settings › Cloudflare. Appto then saves what doesn’t belong in GitHub after every agent step: files over 10 MB, audio, video, App Store page images and backups. Files are encrypted on your Mac before they leave it, so Cloudflare only sees ciphertext. When you turn storage on, Appto shows a recovery key once. Keep it: without it the files can’t be restored on another Mac, and neither Cloudflare nor we have a copy. The free tier is 10 GB, and Appto stops at it unless you allow more. To turn R2 on, Cloudflare asks for a card or PayPal even on the free tier, and it doesn’t accept cards from Russian banks.

Can I bring my own project?

Yes. In New app › Your project, pick a folder on your Mac or paste a GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket link. Appto finds the project, scheme and bundle, keeps your git history and saves back to your own repository. The agent continues your code as it is, without rewriting it or changing the bundle. Apps you shipped before Appto also connect with their reviews, analytics and App Store page.

What happens if I stop paying?

All your files stay with you: apps, code, repositories, history and chats. You can keep working on them with your own agents in their apps and in Xcode. Until you renew, Appto closes agent tasks, niche research, statistics (sales, search ranks, A/B tests) and Appto’s rules for agents: the app removes them from the folder and installs them again when you renew. Collected data isn’t lost. Your apps keep selling on the App Store, since they’re in your Apple account. You can renew any time in Account.

Am I locked in to Appto?

No. The code is in Xcode, the repositories are in your GitHub, the apps are in your App Store Connect account, and the server for variants and live sales is in your Cloudflare. Without Appto you can keep working on them in Xcode or with any agent.

What the agent does and what you do

What is Appto?

A Mac app that finds the idea, designs, writes the code, builds the App Store page, submits your iPhone app to Apple from your account and then helps it grow. The AI is yours, on your own Claude Pro or ChatGPT Plus subscription.

Do I need to code?

No. The agent writes the code, then walks every screen on the simulator and fixes what it finds. You make the decisions and a few steps in your Apple account, which Appto shows one at a time.

Which AI do I need?

Claude Code with a Claude Pro subscription, or Codex with ChatGPT Plus, both from $20 a month. We have no tokens and don’t sell them. Each app can have its own agent, and you can switch any time.

What do I decide?

The niche, the design direction, the screenshots and copy for the store page, and when to submit and release. Anything that writes to App Store Connect or costs money happens only after your yes.

Does my app need a backend?

Not every app does. Many apps need nothing beyond the iPhone. If you need sign-in, a database or cloud functions, the agent builds them on Supabase with Sign in with Apple. The account and the bill are yours.

HealthKit, notifications, widgets, Apple Watch?

HealthKit, notifications, widgets, Live Activities, Sign in with Apple and subscriptions are normal work for the agent. It checks Apple’s documentation from your installed Xcode.

The step-by-step path and the store tools are built around an iPhone app. The agent will write a Watch app or widgets, but you’ll steer more of that yourself.

Can I see it before I pay?

Yes. Download Appto and press “See Appto in action” on the first screen. The demo runs on sample apps, with no sign-in or payment. Before you pay, the app itself has a demo on sample apps. Niche search and the stages come with a subscription.

The App Store and App Review

What does Appto do for the App Store?

Screenshots in every App Store language, a name, subtitle and keywords for each language, a store page score out of 100, the privacy questionnaire and a privacy policy page. The agent fills in App Store Connect, purchases and prices, and uploads the build.

Who submits the app for review?

You do. Appto prepares the version, runs the final checklist and gives you the link to it in App Store Connect. You press Submit for Review yourself. Nothing is written to App Store Connect without your confirmation.

Will Apple approve my app?

Nobody can promise that. Appto checks similarity to your own apps before any code, and every new app is written from scratch with its own bundle ID. If Apple rejects it, the agent explains why and proposes a fix.

Do I need an Apple Developer account?

To publish, yes. It costs $99 a year and you pay Apple. Without it you can still go through the niche, the concept, the code with runs on the simulator, the self-check and the store page.

Subscriptions and paywalls

How do subscriptions and paywalls work?

StoreKit 2 subscriptions and the paywall are part of every app’s path. You can run several onboarding and paywall variants side by side and see which one sells better.

Can I use RevenueCat?

Yes. You enter the RevenueCat keys, like any other service keys, in an Appto sheet, and they’re stored in your Mac’s keychain. You don’t paste them into the chat.

What are live sales?

Every purchase, trial and renewal shows up in Appto right away, with the country and the paywall it came from. It comes with Studio and Pro. For this, Apple’s purchase notifications pass through appto.store with no personal data about your buyers.

Niches and numbers

How does Appto pick a niche?

From live App Store and Google Play data. Chart positions, the leaders and complaints about them quoted from reviews, Android installs as a sign of demand, whether the name is free, and the risk of an Apple 4.3 rejection. Every check comes with evidence you can open. Your own idea gets checked in a couple of minutes.

Where do the revenue figures come from?

It’s our estimate, not Apple’s data. It comes from our own base of about 4,000 apps that we’ve collected every day since September 9, 2026. Half the time the estimate is within 2× of the real figure, four times out of five within 3×, and for big apps it more often runs low. Ads, web sales and Google Play aren’t included. Revenue figures are open on Studio and Pro.

How many niche searches do I get?

Per day, 3 on Solo, 10 on Studio and 30 on Pro.

After launch

What does Appto show after launch?

Downloads, proceeds, purchases, ratings and countries from Apple’s reports, search positions and store page conversion. Each number says whether it’s exact, a sample or our estimate.

What about reviews?

The agent drafts replies, and you can reply to all unanswered reviews at once. A fresh bad rating comes as an alert.

How do I know what to improve?

Appto keeps a to-do list for today, this week and this month. A new version takes its own short path while the current one keeps selling.

Is there a retention screen?

Not yet. There’s no separate retention screen at the moment.

Keys and security

Where is my App Store Connect key?

In a file on your Mac, in a private folder. Neither the key nor your App Store data goes to appto.store. The app talks to Apple directly over HTTPS.

What does appto.store know then?

Your account and subscription, and your niche searches and checks. It also knows your App Store Connect team’s Issuer ID, to count accounts against your plan, while the key itself never leaves your Mac. Your apps don’t talk to appto.store at all: onboarding and paywall variants and Apple’s purchase notifications for live sales go to your own small server on your own Cloudflare account, which you set up in Settings › Cloudflare. The Appto app also sends reports about its own crashes, with no email or keys, and you can turn them off in Settings › About.

Where do my other keys go?

Supabase, RevenueCat and AI provider keys go into an Appto sheet and live in your Mac’s keychain. You don’t paste keys into the chat.

Do I give you my Apple ID password?

No. You sign in to your Apple ID only in the Appto window, and the password sits behind Touch ID. Never type the password or codes into the chat.

How many Macs can I use?

One account works on up to three Macs.

AI features in your apps

Can my app have AI features?

Yes, any AI you choose. Any provider compatible with the OpenAI format works (DeepSeek, Qwen, Mistral and others), plus Anthropic, Google and Pollinations. A paid provider’s key built into the app can be pulled out of the binary, so Appto has a ready small server for your free Cloudflare account. Whether to use it is up to you. It holds request limits for each install and for the whole server, a check against fake requests and, if you want, a daily spending cap in dollars. You enter the key in an Appto sheet, not in the chat.

Who pays for AI in my app?

You do, straight to the provider. Appto doesn’t resell AI and never sees your key, and the Appto subscription is a fixed price. With a paid provider, also set a hard limit in its dashboard.

Medical and other sensitive data

Will Appto work for a health app?

Appto makes the privacy policy page, the App Store privacy questionnaire and the permission prompts. It doesn’t write terms of use, consents for health data or data processing agreements. That’s a job for a lawyer who knows HIPAA in the US or GDPR in Europe. Apple has strict rules for apps with health data, so read them before you start.

Pricing, demo and requirements

How much is it?

A monthly subscription with three levels.

  • Solo $9.99 a month, one app.
  • Studio $29.99 a month, up to 10 apps.
  • Pro $99.99 a month, up to 100 apps, several App Store Connect accounts.
How do I subscribe?

On the site: press Subscribe on the plan you want in Pricing or open your account, sign in with your email or Google and pay by card in US dollars. Then download Appto and sign in with the same email, and your subscription will be there. You can also subscribe in the app, on the Subscription screen.

Is there a free trial?

No. There’s no free trial and no free niche search. Before you pay, you can look around Appto in the demo. It’s built into the app and runs on sample apps, with no sign-in or payment. Press “See Appto in action” on the first screen. Niche search, the stages and analytics come with a subscription.

Why does Studio cost the same as Solo?

That’s the first month. If you haven’t subscribed to Appto before, the first month of Studio costs the same as Solo: $9.99. From the second month it’s the full Studio price, $29.99 a month, charged automatically until you cancel, in the app on the Account screen or at appto.store/account. It’s once per person: per account, email and Mac. If you’ve paid for Appto before or move up from Solo, Studio is the full price. The terms are in clause 3.7 of the offer.

What else do I need?
  • A Mac with Apple silicon or Intel on macOS Sequoia 15.6 or later, Xcode 26 or later and at least 100 GB of free space.
  • Claude Pro or ChatGPT Plus, from $20 a month.
  • An Apple Developer account, $99 a year.

Since April 28, 2026, the App Store accepts only builds made with Xcode 26 or later, and Xcode 26 installs only on macOS Sequoia 15.6 or later. Newer Xcode needs a newer macOS, and Xcode 27 from the Mac App Store needs macOS Tahoe 26.6 or later. On Sequoia, Xcode 26.3 from Apple’s developer downloads works. Appto itself opens on macOS 12 too, and niche research works there, but you can’t build an app without Xcode 26.

Appto doesn’t resell the agent.

Does it work from Russia?

Appto itself works, and the Russian version of the site takes Russian cards and SBP. Russia isn’t on Anthropic’s or OpenAI’s lists of supported regions, so access to the agent there can disappear any day. That isn’t up to Appto.

Does Appto work for a studio?

Yes. Studio runs up to 10 apps and Pro up to 100 across several App Store Connect accounts, each app with its own agent.

How does Appto update?

On its own. When a new version is out, Appto offers to update and restarts once the agents finish their work.

How do I cancel or get a refund?

Turn off auto-renewal in the app under Account or at appto.store/account, and the time you paid for stays. You can get your money back within 14 days. Write to support@appto.store.
