App Store Connect is Apple's dashboard at appstoreconnect.apple.com where developers create app records, receive builds, fill in the App Store product page, sell in-app purchases and track sales. Access comes with the Apple Developer Program at 99 USD a year (price as of October 16, 2026).
What App Store Connect is
App Store Connect is Apple's dashboard for getting an app onto the App Store and running it there. You write the code in Xcode and do the rest here. You create the app record, receive builds, send them to testers, fill in the product page, sell purchases and subscriptions, set prices, and watch sales and payments. Apple describes it as a suite of tools on the web, iPhone and iPad for Apple Developer Program members (App Store Connect page).
People often confuse it with the developer account on developer.apple.com. That is where identifiers, certificates and devices are registered, while App Store Connect holds everything customers see and everything that earns money.
Where it is and what's inside
Open appstoreconnect.apple.com and sign in with the Apple ID of a program member or someone invited to the team. You switch sections in the top bar, and each one shows only what your role allows (App Store Connect Help).
- Apps. App records, versions, the product page, submission for review, plus Game Center, in-app purchases and TestFlight.
- Trends. Sales and downloads over time.
- Reports. Monthly financial reports, earnings, amounts owed and the last payment.
- Business. Signing agreements, tax details and the bank account for payouts.
- Users and Access. People, roles and sandbox test accounts.

User roles
There are eight roles (role permissions). The Account Holder is whoever enrolled in the program, and only that person can sign legal agreements with Apple and renew the membership. Admin has most of the same powers and acts as the team's backup contact. App Manager runs an app end to end, from pricing and the product page to builds. Developer handles development and delivery, Marketing the marketing materials and artwork, Finance the financial reports and tax forms, Sales the sales, downloads and analytics, and Customer Support reads and answers customer reviews on the App Store.
How to get started, step by step
- Join the Apple Developer Program, 99 USD a year as of October 16, 2026. Whoever enrolls becomes the Account Holder.
- Sign in at appstoreconnect.apple.com with the same Apple ID.
- In Business, sign the Paid Apps Agreement and enter tax and banking details if you plan to sell the app or purchases.
- In Users and Access, add people by name and email and give each the narrowest role that covers their work.
- In Apps, create the app record and upload a build from Xcode. The full road to launch is in how to publish an app on the App Store.
- Install the App Store Connect app on your iPhone to watch sales and answer reviews.
Common mistakes
- Admin for everyone. Admin can see and change almost everything. A developer only needs Developer, and whoever answers reviews only needs Customer Support.
- Leaving the agreement to the last minute. Without the Paid Apps Agreement in Business you can't sell the app or purchases, so fill in the agreement, tax and bank details before you work on the page.
- Expecting real-time sales. Trends shows data from the day before, and the financial reports in Reports arrive once a month.
Appto fills in App Store Connect itself, purchases and prices, the privacy questionnaire, the privacy policy page, the build and the final checklist, and asks for your yes wherever it writes to App Store Connect. Then Appto submits the app to Apple from your account or shows you what to press in App Store Connect, more on the App Store Connect page.
