On October 16, 2026 two audiences share the US Medical grossing chart. Parents with baby and pregnancy trackers and clinicians with references and simulators. Huckleberry, a baby sleep tracker, makes $324K–1.3M a month by our estimate at rank 2. All 20 leaders sell a subscription, and a median year costs $69.99, not Apple data.
Parents and clinicians
The top 20 split into three shelves. Parents (Nara, Huckleberry, Pregnancy +, WeMoms), personal health numbers (SnoreLab for snoring, PCOS Pal, Migraine Buddy, SmartBP for blood pressure, the Body Temperature fever log) and clinicians. For clinicians there are the epocrates, Davis's and UpToDate drug references, the Sanford antibiotic guide, NYSORA nerve blocks, PMcardio ECG reading, the Full Code emergency simulator, Prepry ultrasound exam prep and the Freed AI scribe.
Ratings are few here, a median of 8,240, and 11 apps of the top 20 have under 10,000. The fewest belong to VisualDx at rank 13, 186 ratings. Clinicians rarely rate apps, so we show references and brands for professionals without a range, our method runs low for them. Nara at rank 1 makes $88–352K, Huckleberry at rank 2 makes more, $324K–1.3M.

Hospitals give away, apps sell

What a chart rank is worth
37 apps of the top 100 have an estimate, 32 more a rough one because they have too few ratings. Only 8 have a range starting at $100K a month or more. The top 10 without brands make a median $128–510K, ranks 11–25 $44–175K, ranks 26–50 $45–181K and ranks 51–100 $21–83K.
The biggest earners by our estimate are apps for parents and personal health numbers. Pregnancy + at rank 4 makes $339K–1.4M, SmartBP at rank 19 $185–738K.
Newcomers with AI and a narrow job
12 apps of the top 100 came out in 2025–2026, none in the top 20. Yet the top 100 moves. Since September 24, 2026, 160 different apps passed through it, and 16 of today's top 100 weren't in it that day.
Newcomers take two paths. One is AI for clinicians, scribes that write the visit note on their own (Freed, Commure, Skriber), and UpToDate Expert AI from 2026. The other is a narrow reference for one procedure. The youngest app in the top 100, MSK Sono, a guide to musculoskeletal ultrasound, came out June 9, 2026. The Pill Identifier photo app and the Watch It blood pressure app came out too.
Niches inside the category
A small team can't build a hospital system or telemedicine. The App Store money here goes to a log of one personal health number and to a reference for a narrow specialist. Contractions and labor, blood pressure, blood sugar, snoring, migraine, a child's dose, a procedure guide. The book has no niche in this category, the closest topics are in Health & Fitness.

Where the numbers come from
The US App Store snapshot was taken on October 16, 2026. Appto estimates revenue from 30 days of rating growth in six countries. In half of the cases the estimate is within 2x of the real figure, in four out of five within 3x, and for large apps it tends to run low. Ads, web sales and Google Play are not included.
