How Hevy makes money
The App Store page calls Hevy free with no ads. Money comes from Hevy Pro, a subscription with a monthly, a yearly and a lifetime option, which lifts the limits of the free plan.
The social side matters for revenue. People copy routines from friends, which brings new users without paid ads, and a share of them upgrade once they log for months.
Building your own workout log app
A workout log is easy to build and hard to leave. Once a year of sets lives in one app, people stay, so retention does the heavy lifting here. The catch is the crowd. Strong, Fitbod and dozens of smaller logs sit next to Hevy, so a new log needs a narrow angle, such as one sport, one program or one kind of lifter.
